I have a project that includes a few published marks, but for expedience I didn't bother entering the PID when submitting to OPUS. I looked to see if there's a way to assign the PID after the file has already been processed and incorporated into the project, but if there is it's not obvious to me. Anyone ever tried this?
Click on the point that you want to add the PID to and it will display the map view of that area. You can click on the map symbol for the NGS point and it will off to let you use the description, position, or both. This will add the PID. You can also add your picture here. When I use Projects, I only worry about the antenna height and antenna type when I upload files. I usually zip all of the common files together and submit the zip file. Even on your new stations, you can add descriptions and pictures at a later time. I will try to post some screen shots of this tomorrow.
As a SOP, we observe with 2 meter fixed height tripods on all the points, if possible, and we try to keep the number of different antennas to a minimum.
I have a custom upload page that already has my e-mail in it and only has the 4 antennas that we use. It also defaults to a 2 meter antenna height. That really cuts down on the errors
As Steve states above, from the manager's page select the mark you want to add the PID. The "Mark" page will display descriptive info, photos, session solution(s) and any adjustments. Enter the PID and press "Save Description" to populate the other fields.
With some effort I was able to create a single page PDF file. The text associated with the plots and aerial photo can occasionally be jumbled so I used Acrobat's redact tool to clean up the PDF.
Here's an example PDF file for Vail Pass (1.8 MB).
P.S. For projects that have a lot of sessions to process, I found that it is best to complete the station logs before beginning the processing. Otherwise, you waste time waiting for the screen to refresh.
Changes that you make to the station log are not permanent. You must press the appropriate "Save" button after making changes.
Also, you can select SPCs to be reported in U.S. Feet on the station log page. Subsequent session processing results will report SPCs in feet rather than default to meters.
