Hello, has anybody found a solution to connect the 1230 or 1200 units to NTRIP with 4g cell modems, I am desperately trying to find a solution since AT&T cut off my service and no longer offers 3g. I read in other forums about connecting a newer cell phone though a serial to Bluetooth connector like the parani, then connect the parani to a service like http://lefebure.com/ or https://topview.es/ to connect to an NTRIP service like the Florida FPRN.
I have also seen hardware like the MultiTech 1xRTT Cellular Modem, which look like they could be confirgured to work.
Thank you for any information regarding this since there have been other forums about this subject but with no particular conclusion.

I have same gear, mostly backup now. Since there is not any wifi on those units, hot spots by themselves are not a solution. I put together a solution using an Intuicom bridge, that is my gateway to outside world. I then just use my rover radio (not modem) to receive the re-broadcast corrections from the bridge. You can leave the bridge in the vehicle and as long as you can receive the radio signal it works just fine.
I looked into swapping the 1200 internal modem card to something more modern, and I am guessing it can be done if you could source something with same form factor, but then firmware might not support it?

An android data collector would make the 3G, 4G or 5G problem moot.?ÿ
@oldpacer My 1200 and the 500's have to have a wired DC connection, so nothing wireless like Bluetooth or wifi works as a source of RTN corrections, at least not natively from Leica. I think there was a version later of the 1200 series that did have those wireless connections.

Not the cheapest solution but I think Leica makes a 4G version of the GFU.
For years I used a cell phone that had bluetooth dial up networking (BTDUN). Was never a problem. Used both AT&T and Verizon. Phone bluetooth connected with GPS hnd held controller.?ÿ
@john-putnam only 3.75G, i think that is going to be an unusable solution when 3G is gone? AFAIK outside of newer controllers which have 4g modems, the ONLY onboard equipment that Leica currently has a 4g solution for is the GS18's.

@i-ben-havin and that works, except depending on version of 1200's the OP has there may not be bluetooth on controller. the ATX1230 does, the 1230 units do not.
