I've recently purchased bkg ntripcaster and I am setting up the caster using their manual. For uploading stream to base station I need to create some mountpoint and assign a group to that in sourcemount.aut.
if i assign a group then it must be having username and password which i need to enter in users.aut. But the thing is we need to enter only password in the base station. if base station has option to enter only password then why do we need to create a user and assign it to a group?

I'm not an expert on that software package, but "users" generally refers to the client-side folks at the rovers who are utilizing the correction stream.
They need to log in to access that stream - you're setting up the user database and controlling access.
