Getting acquainted with my new R12i. So far, it seems to be performing well under ‘heavy tree canopy’.
Laughs in PNW at your "heavy tree canopy"
Must be rough.
Horizontal isn’t bad but the elevation is what usually gets blown out
If the elevation is truly "blown out" do not trust the horizontal. I have been burned by that one...
@on_point have 2 base stations setup to observe each point from different locations, or move your base and reobserve your points so your adjustment software can actually adjust
I use either a GeoMax Zenith 35 Pro or a GeoMax Zenith 40 with all constellations and I have literally never had a problem under canopy, within reason. If the canopy consists of heavy Ponderosa/Bulll Pines then you will have issues regardless of the brand and it’s time to bust out the TS. Just my $.02
@fugarewe Spoofing usually when done is easy to catch. I have been spoofed many times while in the service. Doing static and ppk rtk etc. usually the position of the point lands on a different continent. Yes spoofing can be controlled to be done where small errors are not as noticeable. However this is where redundancy comes in. Always be redundant for sure. Jamming is more likely than spoofing. Here in the USA. Now if you are close to testing sites. Which are usually known through NANU posts you can be aware most of the time. Now jamming which can be done by someone rolling down the road is done more often. That doesn’t usually mean a blunder though as you usually don’t get a position in that situation. Maybe a partial but you loose sats etc. the most likely jamming comes from those who drive and are monitored but wish not to be monitored. Mechanisms have been put into place for this and I believe has diminished a lot. But I think you can report that as well.
