> Dan Beardslee's articles from Professional Surveyor and American Surveyor are archived on their sites.

So are Ed Bergeron's. He was one of my main targets to recruit as a columnist during my tenure.

I second buying 'The E Myth'. Except I never bought it for anyone else. I have loaned it out and gotten it back so doggy eared, underlined, and highlighted that I had to buy myself a new copy virtually every time. You already know the truth of this book, you just need to hear yourself say it out loud.

Well.... Kinda sorta

I workfor a mid size survey firm. Until lately I have been the get it done guy. Boundaries, topo, control, coordinating with cadd department, working proposals, etc... Now I can feel the nudge for me to get more involved with the local marketing, and I am very excited about it. It might not happen for another year or two, but I want to get off on the right foot. Maybe minimize some of those bad judgement cases if I can.

Thanks for all of the replies guys!

Good move, when things are slow "technical experts" are expendable but "rainmakers" always keep their job.
