A very good friend of mine just called me and needs to find an older HP pen plotter. His has died, and he needs that model of plotter for his older C&G files from what I understand.

The model he has that died on him is an HP Draftpro Plus, model no. C3170A

His contact information is:
Paul "Skip" Erwin
Erwin Surveys
Covington, TN
office: 901-476-4749

He is a great guy, and has helped me out a lot over the years. If anyone knows where he can pick up an old plotter that works, or maybe has advice on how he might be able to plot to a newer plotter for those old files easily, please drop him a line, or contact me through this forum, and I will pass along the information.

He said he can plot the old files to a newer plotter that he has, but it is a long cumbersome process. He has been in business a long time, and has a lot of older jobs in that old C&G format.

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

There may be a Houston Instrument 24in pen plotter in storage.

If interested, I will dig it out.

Do these old C&G files have a .PL1 extension?

Thanks for the replies. I sent Skip a text message. For some reason he can view posts and "lurke", but he cannot post or reply to anything. He and Wendell have tried to figure it out, without success. Something on his computer.

I have a pen plotter, it's a Calcomp. It worked with my c&g. Pay for shipping plus$100 and it's yours.
