I bought this just over two years ago to try. I'm used to the simplicity of SMI and have decided to stick with it (SMI) for my last few years of surveying. I run SMI now on a Recon... I like the size of that unit! So the DC50 is for sale. I have it on ebay right now . Here is pretty much the text from the ebay listing. Its Ebay item 190525555177 if you want to look at the pictures I have with that ad.

It really is like new - no dings or scratches etc. It has one bluetooth module installed and a tripod hook. It also has RTK GPS and robotic total station capability built in.

The DC50 is a great, powerful data collector based on the HP50 calculator (I have two other HP50's and I'm keeping them both!) but its something I just couldn't get comfortable with. If the buyer desires, I can include a Qstarz bluetooth GPS (like new) that works with the DC50, for an additional $30 which is half the current price.

Much more information is available at Precision Surveying Solutions LLC http://www.pssllc.com/
The current list price for this unit is $1695 with an additional $125 for the bluetooth device - $1820. I want $850 if you buy it through Ebay... $800 through this ad. I will send you a Paypal invoice if you would like to buy it or send me a check... when the check clears, I will ship the unit.

Included in this sale is the DC50 with SD card and one set of rechargeable AA batteries. I also have a camo cordura case to hang on your belt. I will include that case. No manual is included but the most current downloadable manual is available at the the website mentioned above.

> Is SMI available for the Recon?

Is it available now?... I don't know. I upgraded a couple years ago to put it on a 200mhz Recon. I'm very happy with it.. I like the size of the Recon and the simplicity of SMI. I also put it on an Allegro CX but don't use that much, just because the Recon is easier to handle, slip in a vest pocket, pack in the instrument case etc.

Call Chris at Eagle Point 800-678-6565 ext 3177 to see if updates are available. If you do upgrade, you want to upgrade to Version 8 NOT Version 2008.
