I would like to validate my degree of surveyor of the Dominican Republic and to study Geomatics Engineering and/or Civil Engineering. I'm from the Dominican Republic and I have no idea of universities in New York that offer these courses, I am a graduate surveyor in my country with 4 years experience working for the government to review the technical and legal work of the surveyors for approval and go for half of the civil engineering career also here, I would like to validate my degree and subjects to study and work in the United States.

A few thoughts, if not a total answer. Make sure you have a transcript ready to go, of course. There can be great variability in what transfer credit various colleges might accept, and at some you may be able to take course challenge exams. Did you study in English language? That makes it easier. Not all states require a degree for you to become licensed, so you could seek a career there. Another thing to consider is that a licensing board may require you to take a few courses in order to get up to speed on local law. In which case, do it.

Do not study in the English language but I did advanced English language courses, I was reading and some universities have restrictions for the first year students to work, as an immigrant, too, that prices are higher than a resident, I think it works better with some company hires me. I wish to work for a government institution in the area of ??surveying.

Can you tell me which programs are most used by the surveyors and that knowledge should be for field work and office, I do not understand much of licenses to work or study in my country for college after you finish an internship of one year and then get your license and you can work. We use the torrens system and I have full knowledge of laws and regulations in this area, is that United States is different, I have in mind to start a business in my country and manage it from United States which would help me earn some extra money to keep in case does not attain a good job.
