I have a buddy that took the VA and NCEES exam for his LS this last time around.
He went to the NCEES website and found out he passed the National portion, but he hasn't gotten word yet for VA. He checked the VA website and found nothing there yet.
Has anyone else heard from VA?
this just in, on my work email:
Marcelo Ramirez was informed today by the VA. Board of Examiners that he successfully passed his VA Professional Engineering exam. This is a major milestone in the engineering career path so join me in congratulating Marcelo on his recent accomplishment.
Thanks.
I checked the name you gave me under the engineers license lookup, and it doesn't look like they have updated the site yet. That may bode well for my buddy. He just called home and found out his letter hasn't arrived yet. He is chomping at the bit of course, but he is at least thankful he passed the National.
oops, how do you think he feels now?

I made a really silly mistake in the last email. Marcelo Cortez just passed his PE exam. So please extend congratulations to Mr. Cortez in the Construction Section Contracts Unit.

I checked the site and that name isn't there either. I don't think the site has been updated.
DJ, It should be any day now. When I passed in '06 I found out on 12/19. Just keep checking the regulant lookup page.
I took the VA State Specific this past April (4-8-11) and my VA license was issued May 24. That is 46 days. It has already been a week longer than that, but that is usually about right for the fall exam administration because of Thanksgiving. I would say it will be any day now.

Yeah, I remember that day well, we both got our ticket that day.
It didn't use to be that you could get your national score directly from NCEES, so I was checking the VA board website for days on end. When it finally popped up with my name and license number it took me a few seconds to process the information. I still didn't get my hopes up until the letter arrived the next day.
I may be more excited this time because two guys that I have tried to mentor in the past are awaiting their results.
When I took it in the fall of '99, I didn't get a letter until after New Years.
Anybody hear anything from VA today?
Did anybody get their letter from VA DPOR today?

ME TOO!!
Jason let me know that my name was on there. I thought it was the 21st... but oh well. As it's been said several times before... The VA licensing board will either make your Christmas merry... or not.
I keep looking for some local friends of mine to pop up.
Do you know you can look up licensees by wildcard number? Leave the name blank and check box "Land Surveyor" and enter 31** for everybody between 3100-3199. You can do that for all of the number ranges, although I think there are only names back into the 300's.

Dennis, I don't think I got mine until after Christmas, or even New Years. I know the website was updated on 12/21 (or 12/19 if Jason Gordon remembers correctly).

No, that was me, Carl, I let you know on that other board that won't be named. Unless Jason had already told you and you were just acting surprised for me.

I did not know that, thanks.

SC,
It is strange, but I have never seen the board post a list of newly licensed guys anywhere. I have to go to the license lookup page and put in a name or number.
> When I took it in the fall of '99, I didn't get a letter until after New Years.
I was checking the website and it looks like all the guys that took it last year all have a certification date of Jan. 24. I wonder if the board had to postpone a meeting or something last year? They were supposed to have met last week or so I think, so hopefully the guys don't have to wait another month.
