I'd like to start by thanking GSchrock; for helping me late last Friday, get my Leica RTK gear connected to the WSRN!
I got a job that was just a little bit outside my normal coverage area and decided it was time to broaden my horizons. I use the Pierce County network, most of the time, but they only have 6 base stations and coverage is limited.
In my Leica controller, once you get a templete set-up, you don't need to do it again. It's a little complicated and if you don't do it all the time, it can be a struggle. I called my supplier and they said that someone would call me back; I called Pierce County and the guy there has Fridays off; as a last resort, I called Gavin. Gavins a great guy and he knows a lot of stuff, but he doesn't usually use Leica gear so I wasn't expecting to get it working.
Gavin has a few clients that use Leica with the WSRN, so he had some instructions and I had a little knowledge on how it worked, so together, we got it working! It took about an hur on the phone, and there was a couple times that I was ready to give up. But we stuck with it and made it work.
I did a search for quotes and found this one by Dale Carnegie:
> “Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”
The unmanifest WILL become the manifest; with cooperation and perseverance, we can accomplish anything.
I'd like to thank Gavin again; he provides an invaluable service to the community that most never see and few appreciate. I look forward to working with the WSRN and the excellent support they provide.
