Hopefully we inspired some elementary school children to look at Surveying.?ÿ We digitized a shark image, went out yesterday and sprayed it on the outfield (with permission) with a short presentation to the Coding & Robotics Club and today we had every student and teacher on the marks and took drone imagery.?ÿ?ÿ https://www.ese-llc.com/chatham-elementary-shark-school/

Did they do the baby shark dance?
How long did it take to mark the field with all the extra help?
The drone needed an update before it would launch and I had to reset my DJI password.?ÿ We scrambled and got it going but the kids did have to stand in place for a couple minutes before the drone launched.?ÿ Some of them were dancing.?ÿ We planned on launching at the office before we went to the field, but like so many times, we became sidetracked.
My kids sprayed a few points each.?ÿ Otherwise it was Cyndi and I painted 240 points in just over 2 hours and gave a 10 minute song and dance to Coding and Robotics.?ÿ We whipped through it and there were a few points slightly out of alignment, can you tell?
I am excited to see how much of a bump in traffic I will see on the webpage in the next few days.
Really interesting project you have there!
That's pretty cool, Thadd!?ÿ Will you post an article for the newsletter? Or a press release for the Chronicle?
?ÿ
I sent the information to Tim at the Chronicle, we spoke on Friday and he published the teaser story Friday afternoon.?ÿ The principal said that the Boston Globe contacted her to run this in their online edition.?ÿ What is odd is that I digitized a photo of a shark weathervane that was from the globe to make the outline.

Maybe a student will catch the surveying bug from this.?ÿ I might do more of these as there has been interest.?ÿ
