I attended two good classes today. One class about machine control and the other on GNSS Processing. Thanks to The Purchase Chapter of Kentucky Professional Surveyors.

Those were both very interesting classes.

I thought Glenn did an excellent job of presenting Machine Control to a group of surveyors that are mostly boundary only or 'old school layout' guys. While I don't anticipate ever being involved in machine control, it was good to learn some of the things to be aware of from a surveying perspective.

Jeff always does a great job with the GPS presentations. While I don't consider myself an expert on GPS, I am at least pretty well versed in its use. Even with what I already know about GPS, I always walk away from one of Jeff's seminars having learned something new.

I was really pleased with the turn out. Our chapter was the first of the fall seminars presented by KAPS and was much earlier in the year than usual. The week before the seminar was to occur we had 6 people registered. I was very relieved to get to 23 attendees.

I would have been really disappointed if we did not have a reasonable turn out just for the sake of the two presenters knowing that all of the time they spent on preparing the seminar was worthwhile.
