It may be quality education, but not sure of it's benefit towards SIT designation or licensure. The following are the current choices of qualifications for SIT designation in Virginia. It might save a couple of months field time.

Surveying Certificate & Degrees (AS, BS) In Ohio
You can thank Paul for giving me an opportunity to pitch my former employer's programs. Columbus State Community College (CSCC) has a one year Surveying Certificate, as well as an Associate of Science (AS) 2 year degree, Civil Engineering, Survey Track.
The Certificate includes many of the AS Survey Track courses. It has been common for students to begin the certificate and move on to the AS degree. Additionally a number of the CSCC students have transferred into the Advanced Surveying Certificate at Cincinnati State which serves as the third year of a bachelor’s degree program at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). The transfer to the Advanced Surveying Certificate requires additional "bridge" courses at either CSCC or Cincinnati State. Both the Cincinnati State and University of Northern Kentucky programs have online courses.
In the past Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana have accepted this as a Surveying bachelor's degree. As the Cincinnati State site says "Students should check with their state licensing board for changes to specific requirements before taking any coursework."
There is also a 5 year apprenticeship program offered through Fairfax County. All of the licensed surveyors I know around here have been through it including myself.
