Is anyone on here located in Nevada?
I am having issues getting information on test schedule and status. Are they going through some major changes?
Sorry. Hijack here.
I live less than 60 miles from Nevada.
Nevada, Missouri, that is. They pronounce it as nuh-vay-duh.

Perhaps that's my problem. Do they have their own Board?
Not sure about the Board question. They do receive an average of about 40 inches of rainfall per year. Does that sound like the Nevada you are wanting?

The one I'm looking for probably hasn't had that much rain in recorded history...

The way I take it, you apply to the Nevada Board and then apply to NCEES for exam scheduling, which would not be specific dates in 2017 for surveying.

I passed NCEES tests long ago. The problem is getting dates for the State specific. They have no schedule now which tells me one of two things. Either they are going through changes and struggling or they are changing the time constraints for the State Specific. By past example they should be having a test in less than 2 weeks. I find it strange there is no info...

They just sent out an email to all the NALS members there other day about revamping the test questions in the very near future. Next week a couple of our guys (my boss being a former NALS president as one of them) are heading up to Reno to discuss changes to the exam.
I'll see what I can find out, and pass it along.

Thanks for checking in. Based on the updates on the site they have changed the process quite a bit. I did get an email that my application will be in front of the board next month. If it works out we will stay an extra day in Reno and take the exam.
It seems like a lot of the state specific exams, which were designed to be the last two hours of the PS exam day are up in the air now that the twice yearly paper NCEES exam has gone the way of the Dodo.
I have a crew chief who failed the PA state specific in October. When he tried to register to retake it he was told that the next exam will be computer based and written, administered, and graded by new contractors. It was still in development and they'd let him know when he could reapply. So much for the "take it once and if you don't pass at least you'll know what to study for the next time" school of exam prep.

I'm sure that has been the cause of many changes. Nevada now appears to allow scheduling certain days of the week. There are some conflicting instructions so we'll see how it shakes out.
