Once upon a time some very silly people with OSHA considered issuing a edict for the benefit of farm workers that would have necessitated something similar. Instead of additional fuel for the tractor/combine/whatever the trailer would hold a portapotty so the machine operator would never be more than a certain number of feet from a "facility".
As a natural born southerner, I have no problem saying...You might be a redneck if....
The homemade gang mower... normal in my way of thinking!
Local landscaper mows a lot down the street from me like this. He has a rider, and hooks a pusher to each side and cruises around. By using a solid bar attached to the mower, it swings the pushers around more so he can get into tighter spaces. Use what you have.
Good timing. I passed this on to others.
This week our olde Ford tractor that pulls the gang mower at the soccer fields broke down ( clutch mainly). We have about a month left in the season and the grass is growing. About 17 acres plus (immediate need) has to be cut to keep teams on the pitch for practices and games.
Our guy said it is going to take 3 weeks for repairs (major overhaul).
So we have been having emergency cyber-meetings to look at our options. So it looks like that we are going to purchase a commercial zero turn to get our backs off the wall. Suppose to have the demo soon. Supposed to be sales going on now with 0% financing with discount to non-profits also.
(There is a 3-4 week wait for tractor rental now due to the recent floods).
The zero turn will enable anyone from 9-90 to mow also. looking at Scag or Hustler
