My local chapter of our land surveyor association is looking to host a seminar relating GIS to the Land Surveying profession. I am hoping to get some feed back on seminars some of you may have attended, what was the specific topic and who the presentor was.
Thank you in advance,
Brad
These guys are probably lurking around here somewhere.
Robert Young and Rene Garcia
Their presentation was top notch.
:good:
We have held a few GIS seminars here in Jamaica. They're quite effective. There are also more established GIS seminars such as URISA and the ESri stuff held annually...What did you have in mind?
We've been in contact is ESRI for a product demonstration, but we are looking for how GIS products have been/could be used to increase productivity, expand skill sets and general usefullness to the land surveying community.
Really any GIS seminars that could be presented to the Land Surveying community, which will be worth a Land Surveyor's time to go to.
Thanks,
Brad

Hope you have better luck that I had. When I first mentioned that we could use a good class on GIS one of our local chapter members looked at me and asked in a very serious voice ... "What is GIS?".
No, this was not 10 years ago, this was last fall.

Brad,
Check out Landon Blake here in California. He normally shows up on the state forum and posibly here as Sunburned Surveyor. He is experienced with integrating GIS with his surveying operations and has been known to speak at workshops before.
