I am scheduled to take the Georgia Land Surveyor Laws & Rules and Hydrology exams this spring and I'm looking for good study materials. The board web site directs me to online codes/rules and regulations but they don't have a printable version. I have also been told that there is a little green book that is essential to the Hydrology exam. Does anyone have good insight on these exams or where i can get the study material. Sorry if this is a repeat thread but I have scrolled through 13 pages of threads and nothing has seemed to cover this.

Thanks For all your Help,

Future GA PLS TMAN

Contact LarryP at http://www.landsurveys.com/
He may have the book that you need.
800.533.4387 if memory serves.
I'm not a LS anywhere but if I recall correctly you better know your sewer stuff. Mostly storm run off I think.
I hope this helps.

Go to AGSonline.org and look on the left side under State. There you can find copies of both the green book and the blue book. We have just updated the green book to edition 6 but version 5 MIGHT be more inline with the test: both versions are listed on gswcc's website.

I haven't heard anything about the Blue book. Do you have any insight on how much of it is needed for the exam?

The green book should be enough to pass the test but the blue book is an excellent reference.

Here is the link to SAMSOG's manual: http://samsog.org/storelistitem.cfm?itemnumber=1

A little pricey but is a good resource on Georgia History. There is some hydrology in it but the material from your hydrology Courses should suffice.

I think the little green book is entitled The Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Manual and was very helpful when I took the test many years ago.
