All this stay-at-home, shelter-in-place, etc. brings to mind a former co-worker who planned a 38 day trip to Alaska with his wife in their fifth-wheel trailer.
The week before he left we all chided him about getting out of work for so long.
He replied that he was really worried.?ÿ When asked why, he said, "I've never been alone with my wife 38 days straight, 24 hours a day!"
Yeah.?ÿ That's tough duty.?ÿ Three days is about our limit before something is liable to get messy.
I guess I got lucky in finding a wife, or else we're both getting mellow in our old age.
Our fall trip of 11 days included just 2 days of organized activity, some separate from each other. But the rest of the time we were together nearly 24 hrs a day and camped in a minivan 8 nights with minimal grumbling and no outright fights.
This stay-home period is going smoothly., too.
No stay-at-home for me, still going out into the field.?ÿ It's not like surveyors meet a lot of people out there, especially the rural stuff.
Since I conveniently retired the same time the world was gobsmacked by humans screwing around with things they think they understand, SWMBO thinks she has gained a live in housekeeper/handyman/gardener/yard boy and whipping post. I've done more physical labor in the last 3 months than in the previous 3 years. Not complaining because all this exhausting manual labor is really trimming me into good physical shape. Old people like me loose muscular tissue more rapidly than y'all young guns so it's important to keep what you have in good shape. Not this!
