Who knows how much weight they haul in their trucks?

I??ve worked out of two different trucks recently, a 4 door 4wd Ford F250 Turbo Diesel and a 4 door 4wd RAM 1500 gas. I??m only 5??8?. The Ford worked the crap out of me. It could hold everything one could possibly need for a weeks worth of varying surveying jobs. But it sure was difficult for me to reach some of the things I needed. The 1500 works better for me physically. It holds everything I need and frankly its a more comfortable ride. They both get about the same miles per gallon. But the Ford had a range of about a 1,000 miles per tank, so less time was spent pumping fuel. I hold the title on the RAM. So that also makes it more appealing.
@holy-cow My RV weighs 15,000 lbs and has a gas powered Triton V-10 in it. It sometimes struggles to climb on steep grades.
@jitterboogie I run a 2500 long-box tradesman with a 6.4 Hemi. Get the stow-away step for the rear and running boards that go to the rear well (unless of course your 6’5″ or taller).
Ha I’m the new guy and there’s other guys that have been waiting for trucks for a while so I said hey if you guys have a truck that’s runnable and it works well I’ll take that one let the other guys that have been waiting for trucks get theirs first I’ll get mine when theirs is coming in
The truck stops along the 401 typically have a scale. If you ask at the weigh station, they would likely let you find out what your setup weighs. Then just run it over during the holidays when your setup will likely be empty. No more guesswork.
Whenever we want to weigh our stuff, we just run it over at the local grain elevator as we’re good with them.
