This may be the most complementary article about surveyors written by a realty entity that I’ve ever read.

Pretty good. Indeed better than most views from the real estate world.
Nitpicks: it could have mentioned boundary law principles along with measurements and history. It says the surveyor’s report is legally binding in a dispute, rather than prima facie evidence and surveyors don’t always agree.

Never hire a surveyor, unless you already know where your lines are. That way you can tell if he lied! (Grin)

Ps, good article, Wendell.

It’s from the UK. If I recall, in case of dispute the court appoints a surveyor. That surveyors findings are end of argument. Here, due process doesn’t allow that approach.

In the first paragraph what link do you get in the word surveyors that I have shown in red and enlarged below? I get surveyplus.com.au which I thought was very weird seeing as it is a USA website. Customised ad somehow?
Many of us only think about surveyors when we drive by a building project and see them in their striking orange or yellow attire. However, surveyors play a much broader role than just construction projects. They can come in handy when you are buying a property or expanding your kitchen space.

I see the same link. I copied the basic URL without the number tag on the end that I suspected would somehow identify the source of the link, and pasted into a “private” page in the browser so it would be harder to tie it to me, and still got the same link. That surprises me because I expected everyone would get a different link depending on their location as tracked from their computer’s IP address.
