Talked with Someone from FVCC last week
Posted by rankin_file on September 20, 2010 at 8:51 pmThere are 2 students enrolled in the 1st year surveying course this fall.
I’d be interested in hearing from Alan Chace on the enrollment they have in their program.

I’ve got 21 students enrolled in my Boundary Law Class. Program is going well.

I guess there are 19 in the 2nd year class. Apparently about 1/2 of those are there for re-training when their former employer(s) shut down. The Problem With Most Surveying Programs Is Timing
Only 2 in the 1st year surveying can mean several things. Some students may be capable of skipping that particular class. A lot of times students can only take 1 or 2 courses a semester, and it is just the randomness of the numbers. How many are in the other 1st year programs?
I say it is good they are running the class with only 2. Were they to cancel this semester to get a larger class size later can cost a program a lot of momentum. One might assume that there are more students available to take Surveying II in the Spring because they had Surveying I in prior years or other places.
One course for one semester is not a trend.
Does FVCC allowing testing in on such sugjects?

38 students in the CE204 Fundamentals of Surveying course I’m teaching at University of South Alabama. Of course, they’re all civil engineering students….
