Hi,
I have been exporting points with XYZ in Scan to Cadd using the Sample option. The resulting distances between the points are not exactly the ones I enter since the sample from the scan uses actual measured points, and there may not be a measured point at the exact same distance I enter, but this way, I am exporting actual measured shots, and no interpolations.
If I do a Surface, can I do a Sample of a Surface instead of from a Scan? If this can be done, I assume the distances of points to export will be exactly the ones entered? But there will be some interpolations involved?

Yes, you can create a surface from the point cloud and then create a grid at any interval on the surface. After you create the grid, you have to explode it, then you can go to the CAD tab and create survey points from CAD points. Yes, there will be interpolations depending on the density of your scan, but that happens during the surface creation; if your surface is correct your points will also be correct. I use this workflow all the time
