survpc problems
Posted by hawko on June 5, 2022 at 7:30 amwhen using survpc recently had a problem where curves were coming out as 2d polylines as apposed to 3d polylines despite them being exported with heights. any ideas on how to fix this?

Presuming this is the same inquiry as found in this thread, I would suggest first opening the DWG with AutoCAD or IntelliCAD and checking to see how C3D exported the polylines.
If they list as 3D (e.g. varied elevations along the path of the polylines) in CAD, then I’d suggest sending the DWG and problem report to [email protected].
If they list as 2D and elevation 0 in CAD, then you’ll need to coordinate with the person(s) that exported the DWG.
If they list as 2D and elevation “Z” (e.g. a contour) in CAD, then you might want to check what you’re using for the vertical component of the polyline.
I hope this information helps.

The DWG/DXF format hasn’t ever supported elevated curves in polylines, even 3D polylines.
You’ll need something like an alignment to get that information over to the controller. LandXML will work.
