Preparing for the PS
I keep getting stonewalled when trying to submit this. So ill give it a third attempt….
I am preparing for the October PS and NH exam. I have been working in the surveying field for about 10 years. That breaks down as follows:
- 2 years at UNH studying Civil Technology with a specialization in surveying and mapping.
- 6 years in the field (4 of which I have been in responsible charge)
- 2 years at an aerial mapping company
- 2 years drafting my own fieldwork (1 of which has been drafting start to finish)
I received a two year surveying degree at the University of New Hampshire. I did the minimum for required reading, payed full attention in class, did all of my homework, got plenty of sleep, and did not study for a single exam. I wanted to test my knowledge rather than just regurgitate what I had studied the night before. I graduated with honors.
I am writing to all of you to ask what would be the best use of my time when preparing for the PS exam. I absolutely hate to read. I plan on reading the PS reference manual cover to cover at least once in order to familiarize myself with it. What are 1 or 2 other books that you would suggest for a degenerate like myself? Those of you in NH, are there any NH specific tests that you would recommend?
Thanks,
Will
