I upgraded from a 1996 Jeep Cherokee 2door to a 2008 Jeep Liberty for about $8k. It runs and my stuff fits in it and it has 4X and the heater works.
I can get two people in the front but the rest is equipment and supplies.

These trucks may be a better investment.
Lightly used Toyota Tundra 4×4 Crew Max go for $25,000
Just buy one of these and increase your fees by 3000% and Bingo! Yer all set! ????

Makes me wonder whether there any “rock-star” surveyors around that have widespread public fame (and sport a cheesy grin like that chap in blue).
I worked on year for a surveyor that had a tiny office with 40-watt lightbulbs that 3 of us were elbow to elbow on rainy days.
Did not matter what the need to do was, nobody could get up until the boss got up.
The worst days were when they cranked up the Olivetti card reader machine.
it sat on a part of the drafting table and when it was in action it practically shook the tiny house and would jump and walk off the desk and made inking a drawing impossible.
I want a daily commuter truck!
I mean… I’d take it fishing and camping sometimes too. But it would it would be my only vehicle so it would have to go everywhere.
Plus it does occasionally snow here…
