Horrible news!!!
a.k.a. Randy Hopper from Marion, NC
I’ve talked to him on the phone many times and our survey paths have crossed more than a few times. However, we never got to meet in person. We talked about getting together a bunch but it just never happened. I would have to say we knew each other fairly well.He lived not far from my place in NC. We knew tons of the same people.
I was wondering about him last week in fact.Vaya con dios my friend.

Thanks Wendell. I hated reading that.
We usually talked shopped and stories about our various visits to the calibration baseline we both used at Shiflet Field not far from his house in Marion.
Although he did usually run solo per his monicker, he occasionally used a helper and I said for him to give me a call if he needed and I’d help out if I could. It just never happened. This news just kinda leaves me feeling a little empty and very saddened.
