Job hunting tips
There have been a few times in my life, more than I like to remember, although, now that I do remember, I can’t actually say that I don’t like it, so that old cliche gets tossed out.
Where was I? Ah, yes…There have been a few times in my life when I’ve been out of work and really wanted to get a job. There have been many other times, particularly in my youth, when I’ve been out of work and didn’t really care if I got a job or not. In those times I used to practice urban and/or road survival techniques which are the equivalent of killing a deer with your bare hands and gutting it with you teeth, only in the context of actual interpersonal relationships with people who don’t have the privilege of living in the country with Aaron Copland playing in the background.
O.K., sorry, again…where was I?
Right…looking for a job.So… if I really wanted to get a job, I would dress nicely and try not to insult any potential employers by proclaiming strong personal opinions before they even had the opportunity to talk to me. I wouldn’t, for instance, wear a jacket to an interview with a big button that said “I don’t care what you think, this is what I think” or “Eisenhower sucks!”
Now what I mean? If you really want a job, you should demonstrate maturity and common sense to anyone that might possibly be looking at professional websites to search for a new employee.
Just some thoughts,
Don
