How fast can you survey 7.4 miles?

@gerrysanchez I had to pull some of the you tube videos down due to client. We use POSPac for calibration.
Generally much faster than I can jump all the hoops and rig-a-maroll of getting the contract set up and the SOW approved…. ????
Define Survey….. 🙂
@jitterboogie about 20 points per square meter at 100 kph. Topographic only on pavement.
So i cant count the LiDAR/Orthophoto platforms collecting the data i set the GCPs for correct? 😉
@jitterboogie I??m not sure what that means. But I can assure you mobile LiDAR is a sound way to collect data.
I was just ground control….The fixed wings were collecting gobs of data with the ALS70s and mind blowing files. Wasn’t implying you weren’t surveying, just being facetious. That sounds like a cool project, esp because you got to improvise and create a solution on the fly within the project. Some people think a survey is asking questions at the super market on a weekday. Mobile lidar has become a real deal game changer in lots of stuff nowadays.
The new FS exam has a good chunk of Remote sensing stuff and its about time because its been used for decades. We need to get a beer or a coffee someday when all this pandemic normalizes( see what i did there?)
@jitterboogie no problem. Always up for a drink and talking shop.
gcp is the new slang for ground control point.
@stlsurveyor Thank you!
