Hello Fellow Surveyors!
Good morning everyone, new to the page.
A little about me; I joined the Air Force in 2011 and got lucky enough to get a job as “Engineering Assistant” or 3E5X1…Did my technical school at Fort Leonard Wood, MO where I learned the basics of surveying, autocad, manual drafting, etc. I completed a 4 year active duty contract where I was deployed once, went on numerous short trips overseas and cross-country, learning everything I could about surveying and CAD. Shortly before my contract was up, I was offered a job at a local engineering firm to survey and do CAD; and I jumped on it. I continued my college education while working full time and met my state’s requirements to take the FS, passed that! I continued working and learning until I could take the PS and state specific exams, passed those! I have been licensed now for about 6 months and have still been learning new things all the time.
I enjoy all types of surveying and have gotten a very wide variety of experience since starting my career outside the military. Hope to get some additional good input on the forums; I’ve been reading them for a while and just now signing up.
Have a good day everyone!
