GPS trackers – Big Brother on Steroids
Posted by nate-the-surveyor on June 13, 2019 at 10:21 pmThis really looks interesting. I’m sure that there is alot more to come. For fleet vehicles, or equipment.

We always told our teenage son, “We’ll give you a lot of freedom until you show us that you’re not able to handle it responsibly.” He never did (he turns 21 in a week or so), so we never felt a need to control his activities. I’m sure he did stuff that I wouldn’t approve of, but making those decisions is part of becoming an adult.

This company also makes a much smaller one, for placing on valuables.
Could be useful.

It’s been a thing on fleet vehicles for years. One of the outfits I worked for in OK had it and misused it.
A fellow I knew told me of a survey outfit in Phoenix that put it on their survey rigs, which the PCs were allowed to take home. They soon found that the trucks were being used for weekend road trips, one even going to Mexico.

I would be wary of placing privacy trackers on family because of the litigious society in that we live. You don’t know how they maybe used and construed against them if there is an incident.
Plus it’s just wrong, in my opinion.

Anyone carrying a cell phone can be tracked. The only limit is the creativity of those with your phone number.

From the start cell phones could be tracked by triangulation from cell towers. More recently any cell phone capable of using GPS can be tracked. An inter net search ” tracking smart phone” will produce thousands of hits including online applications to track any cell number. This is one example https://search.peoplefinders.com/track-phone/ there were a number of others.

I find that too is the most easy to use. Itƒ??s the GPS tracking system that I always turn to when I need something that is easy. I also suggest it to all my friends.

I have google maps setup to track me. If I get behind on my records, I can look at the timeline and see which job I was on and the day and time. This is not for billing, I work for a construction company. This is just for the time sheet at the end of the week.
I also have it setup so my wife can find me if I don’t come home.
