Galveston couple claims surveys were falsified

It’s hard to draw any conclusion from that news story, but I will observe that the downturn in real estate has caused a tidal wave in title insurance claims from folks looking for someone with a checkbook. Surveyors certainly aren’t exempt from that trend since the title companies will be looking for other checkbooks to defray whatever claim they may pay.

The hard part for the title companies is to find surveyors who actually have a checkbook (I’ll wager)…..

Actually, some title companies won’t let that detail bother them.
I am cognizant of Mr. Gartrell’s “style” of surveying. I worked in that area from southeast Houston down to Galveston from 1980 to 1987 and from 1991 to 1994.
