@noodles What’s the latest news with RADU?
RADU has Parkinsons and it’s really kicking his butt sideways. ??? He had a couple of falls that rendered him in the hospital, then in rehab. The last I heard, he was stable but cannot talk or type well anymore.
I know he tries to read things posted, though, both here and on Facebook.
I Admin his Baby Boomers Facebook Page and know he reads just about everything posted. ????Admins Wife@noodles Had the pleasure of taking RADU on a tour of Tucson some years ago, showing him the saguaros. Wonderful, interesting man.
@bruce-small
I remember. He came over to my house with Wendell and visited us. We went to dinner and had a blast! I love his accent. 🙂
Admins WifeI was the lucky soul that got to introduce RADU to his very first pin cushion. The irony is that it was one of my employer’s property corners (in Tucson, Arizona).
J.O. Teague and I picked him up on his first day and the first thing he said was, “Do you have a Hooters around here?” So that’s where we went for lunch. ???
Your friendly, virtual neighborhood WebmasterI remember a Joseph Trott and Dave Smith, as well as a native American lady from the Lakota tribe.
Seems as though she was either from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or Northern Wisconsin.
@gordon-svedberg Dave Smith is alive and well posting on Facebook or I think it is the same person?

Christie Otchingwanigan was from the UP. and is an enrolled member of the Lac Courte Oreilles tribe of Lake Superior Ojibwe (what the white man called Chippewa). Her surveying business, Niigaanii Surveying, was formally dissolved in 2019. I think Christie was active on FB for a while after she left our fold. Don’t know what she’s up to nowadays.
She was a firecracker and consistently stood up to the slings and arrows of fellow posters back in “wild west” days of the board. I remember she had a Boston Terrier named Fart Blossom.
I’ve related this before, but I’ll say it again because I believe it’s an indication of Christie’s spirit. Her tag line once read (from my memory): Build a man a fire and keep him warm for an evening. Set a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.
I admire a good sense of humor.

I remember Fart Blossom but not that much of Christie’s posts. Which site was she acttive on?
@flga-2-2
BeerLeg, I believe. But, it could have been rpls.com (Not the POB version)
Going way back, wasn??t there a guy called Motorcycle Surveyor or something close to that?
Yes, motorcycle surveyor. He had it all on a kaw 900. And, I think his name was Wayne Griffith? Something like that.
Motorcycles could be a good way to survey.

I don’t remember her making it over to Wendell’s board. She may have left before POB rolled out their big “new and improved” product. But then I’m old and can’t remember whether I took my medicine or not this morning.
Christie truncated her last name and posted under “Christie Otching”.

@paden-cash She’s on FB but I don’t think she is surveying anymore.
Weird, I thought she the tiger by the tail…
I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will! @David Livingston
Wayne Griffin
Owner of Griffin Surveying, but seeking employment
Griffin Surveying, LLCMichigan Technological University
Kingman, Arizona, United States
When I was looking to move down here, there was a posting for Mojave County Surveyor in Kingman. That was quite a few months ago, and I know (from experience) that not everybody’s cut out for Government work, in my career it’s been like a necessary evil.

as I recall he was a GIS guy, rode around collecting points for some public agency, on a BMW I believe.
Infamous for a profile avatar with him in short shorts, really Short @nate-the-surveyor I remember Wayne Griffith. He was in SoCal. I believe he decided to move out of state (quite a few years ago), maybe back to MI.
@richard-germiller The former Mohave County Surveyor moved to Oregon I believe about that time. He was also on the Arizona licensing Board.
