I’m not certain but I believe Jim was one of the guys who met up at Paul Cook’s house once upon a time and we were provided a picture proving the gathering had occurred. Paul hasn’t been on in years but I still wonder how much further his house has slid downhill since he first told us about that.
Whatever happened to Perry Williams (I believe that was his name) from Vermont, I believe, who made and sold maple syrup among other things?
Perry was from New Hampshire, played the Bass in a Blue Grass Band.
I bought some of his Maple Syrup; VERY tasty!

I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!@dougie
A quick search for Perry Williams, Lyman, New Hampshire has a story about his survey work in February 2020.

RADU is alive, but having some complications with his Parkinsons. I help Admin and manage his Facebook page, so they post updates in there. ??

Ryans death was absolutely heartbreaking. ???
We happened to be down in California at the time. We were suppose to meet up with him and his family for dinner. I never heard back from him. Then we found out what had happened.
Wendell and I put together a “Go Fund Me” for Ryans family. I believe we raised over $28,000 for them in a week. Every single penny went to his wife and kids. ????Admins Wife@holy-cow. Yes, good memory Mr. Cow. In fact, I rode with Jim down to that gathering. We drove over the Cold Springs Canyon Bridge that he had staked out during his time with Caltrans. It is pretty impressive. Jim was a great guy. It always brings a smile to my face when I see one of his maps when I am doing research.
That’s one heck of a bridge. I would never get my wife to cross it for any amount of money.

Derek is alive. Still surveying too.
Not a former contributor but does anybody know the whereabouts of Dr. Joseph Bell, an HP41C expert who published Survey Calculations Journal for a few years in the seventies, which enthralled me and profitably improved the way I did construction layout work. Met him a coupla times at seminars and he was witty, inquisitive and engaging.
Anyway, he’d be about 85 now and dropped off the radar concerning software reviews in the late 2000s. His bio is quite interesting:
Thanks, Alan. BTW, you need to swing by more often than once every six months. You have a way with words that we all enjoy. Checked your profile and discovered your wry wit hasn’t changed one bit.
@dougie
yep- got the flyer for his next seminar just the other day. never met him in person, but get the vibe he??s one of those guys who??s internet grouch persona isn??t just performative and instead lines up pretty good with reality.
Whatever happened to McMoundfinder? He was always an interesting poster. Also Keith form SoCal.
Neither has participated here for several years. Personal issues, you might say.
Some of the folks that used to be frequent here have moved to Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Guess we need to add Chris Wickern and Ted Dura to the ever growing list. Also Dent Cermak.
Would really like to hear from some of the contributors from quite a few years back, such as: Sam Clemons, John Giles, John Francis, Perry Williams.
DDSM–Dan Robinson—seems like maybe he left us, as well.
@noodles What’s the latest news with RADU?
