Just to throw this out there as a possible reason why it could appear (or be) so inconvenient for people not located in Texas.
In California, fingerprints are required for new applicants and they can go to any LiveScan center in the state to have those done. Yes, there are LiveScan centers located in many other states and applicants outside of California always ask why they can’t go there (which is an understandable question).
Reason: LiveScan centers only communicate with the Department of Justice and FBI state office within the state the center is located in. So, for example going to a LiveScan center in Utah to submit fingerprints intended for the California Board will not go to the California Board.
Maybe this is part of the reason why Texas is the way it is. I don’t really know.
well, randy, it does look like you’d have to go the Y in oak hill. but at least the corridor of death has a center turn lane and shoulders these days.
