- Received a copy from StLSurveyor. Lots to look at and it is very well put together with many examples. Thanks,
- Jim
I think I have replied to all thus far….
If available, I would also like a copy/ or link to a copy (dropbox, google drive)
I can re-host a .pdf version once received.
Many thanks.
Thanks much for the email, A Harris. And thanks for responding on here stlsurveyor. This is an excellent resource. I??m glad someone is still able to spread knowledge about the lost art of survey notekeeping.
Stay plumb, my surveying brethren. ?
… and for future reference gmail can send or receive up to 25MB files. I didn??t know that until Mr. Harris sent me the book.
I have a reprint of this book that I bought recently from a used book dealer. Inside the front cover, there’s the statement: “Clark College Bookstore has been granted permission to reprint this book in its entirety by Krieger Publishing Company (November, 2008)”.
I don’t see Pafford’s name in the current list of authors on Krieger’s website, but it looks like Krieger would be the place to start to get further reprint permission.
It looks like Dorothy Pafford died in 2002. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/ladailynews/obituary.aspx?n=dorothy-pafford&pid=375641
The obituary lists two sons. One, Douglas (land surveyor), died in 2003. The other son, W. Scott Pafford, appears to be a CPA and has a LinkedIn page. This is probably him: https://www.linkedin.com/in/scott-pafford-aa9b531a/
I’m just one of those evil GIS people. Bwah-hah-hah! Seriously, I do coordinate systems and transformations at Esri.@a-harris, I have been searching for this book for a while now and came across this forum. I have not had any success finding this book elsewhere and I was wondering if you would be kind to help me with this resource if you still have access to it. I would really appreciate it. With all the new technology note keeping is being forgotten and not emphasized enough.
Did I miss something?
I didn’t see a link to Mr. Pafford’s book…
I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!@dougie I can send you the pdf. PM me your email address
I know I am a bit late to this discussion. I have been searching for resource for a while now without any success finding this book. I was hoping someone would kindly help me obtaining this resource if you still have access to it. I would really appreciate it. With all the new technology and cad drafting the art of hand drafting and note taking is getting lost. It is a skill not as developed anymore and it seems new generations are not expected to learn it, but one that should be worked on. I would greatly be appreciated if anyone could help me. Thank you.
@james-deitrick yup just send me a PM with your email address and Ill email it to you.
link sent.
