Small tack and washer. Oh my that brings back memories. Come bottle tops snuff can lids washers . We called them shiners. And I have set my fair share and found many over the years. For witness marks ref marks. In the PLSS time as well in Metes and bounds set reference marks show on plat the dist and azimuth etc. yeah I imagine you start blazing some cut folks decorative landscaping you might get in some trouble for sure.
True. We do have more than enough here though.
The boundaries I stake through timber are all with posts, then the trees vanish during fence construction. It’s kinda cool to look at some of those areas thirty years later and see miles and miles of lines through the timber on Google earth
Not sure if it’s like this outside of Washington State, but out here if property is described as the west half, you will calculate it differently based on if it’s the west half of aliquot parts of the rectangular system or not. The west half of the NE/4 will be calculated by midpoints along the north and south. The west half of lot 1 of Jones Addition to Arlington will be calculated by acreage.
