For anyone interested, the following link is to the TBC eLearning pages. I believe you will need to create a Trimble ID, but it’s free. Rui did a great job putting these classes together before she moved on to bigger and better things.
I just used it to create a surface for C3D from a scan.
Its the process we use so I’m rolling with it.
Apparently it’s more effective than import of point cloud for tin creation.
I DO!
Everthing is done with TBC. I don’t have any other CAD. Works Great, I’m self taught, never been to any Trimble training. I have watched some of the videos, spent time in the help files.
I spend no time converting back and forth between systems. EVERTHING is in the TBC file. You can imput and output other file types to move to other systems but I don’t need to do that other than if a client wants a dwg or something similar I can do that. Never had any complaints about what they got with the conversion.
I wouldn’t do it any other way. Things don’t need to be that complicated. Not that expensive if you don’t have all the other programs like AutoCAD. Just TBC, that’s all I need.
I have Survey Advanced, Surface Modeling, Field Data, Survey Intermediate and Site Modeling.
