I was on a Maricopa Co., AZ court hearing conference call all morning.?ÿ Interesting enough the court staff included an interpreter.?ÿ Given the location and Hispanic population one could assume that an interpreter might be required at times.?ÿ The interpreter had to announce herself several times for the judge to understand her...in a thick East Indian accent.?ÿ It was almost comical.
I hope her Spanish is better than her English.
Have a son-in-law who has worked in many court rooms providing interpreter services for Spanish.?ÿ He has made it quite clear that there are as many different versions of Spanish as there are English.?ÿ Sometimes the same word carries a very different meaning in one country versus another.
