Update. Drill, battery and charger stolen out of the carry box this weekend. Sigh.

After transporting tools in and out of office for the last 50yrs, the investment of a dedicate custom lockbox insert for mounting onto the bed of a truck is well worth the cost in the long run.

The surveyors service bed is a cure to many ills.

I can not tolerate a thief and share your feelings.

I got a 18V. Makita SDS plus drill a year or 2 ago that I'm happy with. I think the SDS system developed by Bosch is much more efficient as the hammer mechanism is hammering the bit which can slide in the chuck, not hammering the back of the chuck and shaking the bit loose.
