Angel, Enjoy It
In all honesty I think the Phils lost it the day after they clinched the Division. They went on an 11 game losing streak, from which they never really recovered.
Putting up one run in the top of the first and hanging on for nine innings in the other guy's ballpark is one hard way to win. Congratulations to Tony LaRussa, he is a better manager than Charlie Manuel.
I saw a common problem with the Phils and Yankees, they loaded up big time on talent. Talent helps but determination and hard work won out.
BTW, this game was also personal. My oldest brother lives in the Saint Louis area, so I probably want to get out of the house before he calls. I haven't talked to him since after the game 4 win.
We have not been to the new stadium, but are planning a road trip in 2012. We have friends that have just retired and moved to the Cincinatti area. We are getting too old to make the drive all the way to Missouri in one day so a way stop helps. We've been to Saint Louis only 2 times (weddings) since my other brother moved from the Cleveland area to the Charlotte area.

It really breaks my heart to see the two best teams money can buy going home to sit with the other (Red Sox). I am kind of mixed between the Brewers and Cardinals, as I always like seeing the new team there, but I cannot stand the Brewers (mostly Braun and Fielder) but I also like the Cardinals due to Matt Holliday (local roots). As for the AL, I have always pulled for the Rangers but I still like Jim Leyland from his Pirate days. So, in the AL, I guess I am indifferent there as well. Now I am almost wishing that either the Phillies or Yankees made it so that I would have someone to root against.
Rangers vs. Tigers tonight!
Go Rangers.
Rangers vs. Tigers tonight!
This will be a terrific series no doubt! The best part is it will lead to a repeat of the '68 World Series wherein the Tigers beat the Cardinals in 7 games.
Go Get 'Em Tigers!!!

A whole lot of things happened in 1968 that should not be repeated. I'm thinking this is one of them as well.
Go Rangerstars!!
Rangers vs. Tigers tonight!
HOW 'BOUT THEM STARS
Great game last night, good way to start the season.
Rangers vs. Tigers tonight!

Is a Rangerstar the red headed stepchild of a Tigerwing? 😛

I've been a Cards fan since I was 9 years old. My team has always had its ups and downs but one thing they aren't...and that's quitters. That's why they are where they are right now. 🙂
My childhood (and adult dream) is to see a home game of my beloved RedBirds. One of these days I'll get to St. Louis!! If you do go in 2012, let me know when and maybe we can meet ya there. 🙂
Sigh...
Yankees in 2012!!!...
OK Joe, Yankees - Phillies In 2012

Rangers take game 1
Rangers win...Rangers win....da Rangers win.
Rangers beat the Tigers 3-2 in a long rain delayed game.
Rangers take game 1
DANG THAT WAS a LONG GAME!!! 😛
If it is a Cards VS. Rangers Series, I would be fine, but still loyal to my Cards. 😉 If it's Brewskis Vs. Rangers, well, then it's a no brainer. 😛
