Our brains are strange, strange things. What is it that gets the brain to drop a memory on you from out of nowhere with no possible reason for doing so?
I caught myself attempting to hum along to a tune made popular by the Andrew Sisters years before my birth. I never heard them sing it to the best of my knowledge. Dad was not a singer. He was the proverbial example of "can't carry a tune in a bucket" and generally avoided singing altogether. Yet, I have memories of him humming and sometimes quietly singing the tune that jumped into my head a few minutes ago. Here are the lyrics:
You call everybody Darlin'
And everybody calls you Darlin' too
You don't mean what you're sayin'
It's just a game you're playin'
But you'll find someone else can play the game as well as you
If you call everybody Darlin'
Then love won't come a-knockin' at your door
And as the years go by
You'll sit and wonder why
Nobody calls you Darlin' anymore
I don't know how it popped in, but I do know how it popped out. It popped out through your fingers, and into your keyboard!

Seriously, being raised in the Soo, I consider you a Confederate.
