That infamous hot spot near the river Styx has frozen over?
Kansas State University has been playing football since 1896, yet this is the first time ever they have been #1 nationally in a football poll. Well, they may have been the #1 WORST team at some point, which is why this BCS ranking is so exciting to Wildcat fans. I think they averaged about two wins per year during my four years there. That only happened when they could find two blind girls high school teams to sneak into their schedule. Here's a peak at part of their heritage:
Coach, when at K-State, # of years, total games, wins, losses, ties, percentage
Ellis Rainsberger 1975-1977 3 33 6 27 0 .182
Jim Dickey 1978-1985 8 89 25 62 2 .292
Stan Parrish 1986-1988 3 33 2 30 1 .076
That's 14 years with a grand total of only 33 wins. No wonder so many alumni are in shock!
Guess who arrived to be head coach starting in 1989.
THIS BRIDGE IS NUMERO UNO!!!
UNDEFEATED AFTER 100 YEARS!!
Who cares!

Well, technically they’ve still never been number one in a poll.
They’re No. 2 in the AP writer’s poll and No. 2 in the USA Today’s coach’s poll. They’re only No. 1 when the computer geek ratings are added to the polls to get the abomination know as the BCS standings.
Just sayin' 😉
Who cares!
Welcome to the Big 12.
You will care when all the bowl money gets divied up.
I knew that one was coming.
hmmm
who is #4,5,6,7,8 and 9?
I wonder if that had any bearing on 1 and 2. 😉
Thank LSU for taking Bama to the limit so they could have their let down the next week against TAMU.
and
Thank Daniel Sams for preserving KSU win the week before.
Daniel Sams, the red shirt frosh back up to C.K is a local St. Tammany, La. kid.
I still think the title game will be Bama vs. Oregon.
