Of venison/beef sticks... I speed packaged my mule deer last season because I was short on time, so now Iƒ??ve thawed out a few chunks and mixed in a tip steak from our beef- they tend to run a bit tough so this is a good option. marinating now . Too good for yƒ??all- just right for me - working up about 8 pounds worth or $120 worth- how ever you want to look at it...

Yup.?ÿ From what I've heard that venison can be unbelievably expensive once you figure in all of the true costs.

The $15/ pound for jerky was an estimate based on when I bought some at Costco last fall. The actual cost of hunting is just something not to be discussed.... besides memories are priceless

In the dehydrator now- see how it is in the morning- I debated smoking them in the Traeger but decided to save my pellets- Costco is out and Murdochƒ??s charges the same amount for 2/3 size bag- ( I know Support the little guy- I did - Mrs File bought 2 bags from there a week ago.

Not really, I could take out one a day from my back porch, 1 hour to butcher, 3-4 days to age, 1 hour to grind and or place in freezer bag.

The cows in my pasture require much more expense, time and effort.

I don't know about any of y'all but I'll take having a freezer filled with moose roasts and burger and a couple dozen salmon over all the TP in Los Angeles. To all those hoarders I say, "Let them eat their toilette paper."
