The image below is of a KC-135 Stratotanker coming in to the Lincoln (Nebraska) Municipal Airport as seen on Google Earth. Where is the shadow...or would there be one?
Stratotankers are 136.25' long and have a wingspan on 130.83'.
Location: N40°48'17.43" W96°45'43.45"
I can see the pwr poles are casting a LOOONGGGG shadow, at about N 15 E , and so I think the shadow is FARRRR away, to the NE. Maybe even several miles away. And, it is probably quite big!

Just a w.a.g but based on the shadows cast by the objects across the creek in the direction the plane is headed, I would think the shadow of the plane would be well outside the frame of the photograph but there is no reason to think that there is no shadow.
How 'bout
A jet shadowing a jet...;-)
How 'bout
those are way too close together for comfort. my guess, the photo is the same plane at two different epochs, just didn't get filtered in processing
The reason I ask is because I have searched for the shadow of this plane and have not found it. It could be that there are different images blended in this area and the area where the shadow should be located was taken a different time.
The flash from google's camera probably washed it out.
That or it fell in the lake. 🙂

Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of a man?
I recall seeing a similar Google Earth photo from somewhere in Massachusetts of a plane. Comparing the length of that plane to lengths at ground level factored to something like the plane being a quarter of a mile long. Working backward from that to the camera suggested the plane was pretty dang high as I recall. The shadow would have been huge and far away, depending on the sun angle at the time.
