Stupid iPhone keypad. I fat fingered an I instead of a O....
Positive it is not Mount Sunflower.
Would it be east or west or north or south of said Mount Sunflower?
East of Mt Sunflower.
I wish. This place is in the lower 48.
OBX
Outer Banks? Nope. NW'ly of there.
Think Marquette....
.....and Jolliet....
Must be somewhere along The Big Muddy.
Getting real warm. Where along the Mississippi?
Hmmm.... Holy is really warm. He just needs to pin point the location a little closer. Marquette and Jolliet made a important discovery here.
Here is another clue. Since we're all Blackhawk fans now after they won their 3rd Stanley Cup in 5 years, (especially Roadie) another important event happened at this site years later. It is within a 40 mile radius of the location in the first picture.
Wyalusing State Park
Ding-ding-ding! We gave a winner! Jolliet and Marquette discovered the Mississippi at this location in 1673. Wyalusing State Park is where the Wisconsin River meets the Mississippi.
The Battle of Bad Axe was the last Indian war east of the Mississippi.
Here's a little trivia. My favorite guns and liquor store is about 5 miles away. Yep. Booze and bullets.... Starks in Prairie du Chien.
Once upon a time there was a Prairie du Chien in my home county. When the railroad followed a different path it didn't take the locals long to pack up and move a few miles. Couple of county roads running on a half-mile line are about the only clues that something might have happened in that area about 140+ years ago.
