Talking NCAA football Top 25 playing in bowl games

Because of the current playoff system 3 of the top 4 will end with a loss. Meanwhile, 5,7,9,10 and 11 all lost as well. So 8 of the top 11 will lose their final game of the year. Also, 19,21,23 and 25 have lost thus ensuring 12 of the top 25 will lose their final game.

Not nearly as negative as the massive basketball playoff system where all but 2 of the top 100 end with a loss.

Winners: Tv, conferences, coaches who receive bonuses and incentives.

Losers: players, fans of the game.

If your team is paying your HC over $2 million...you can't call
yourself a small school and whine. Private or public.
The school has chosen to join the NCAA football industry. Money talks

How the Top 25 (pre-bowl games) rank and how their coach ranks on the pay scale in the link provided by RH.

Football Ranking/ Coach's Pay Ranking

1/1
2/51
3/14
4/6
5/22
6/11
7/27
8/2
9/25
10/18
11/29
12/37
13/17
14/19
15/33
16/16
17/21
18/41
19/12
20/72
21/26
22/43
23/7
24/Not Reported
25/45

The best deal is clearly #2 Oregon paying their coach the 51st highest salary.

The worst deal by far are the 3,4 & 5 highest paid coaches who couldn't make the Top 25. Their problem came at the hands of the 22, 11 and 29 highest paid coaches this year.

I love these kinds of topics about sports and things that are merely a form of mindless entertainment to most of us. Plus I'm one of those who pretty much live and die with said entertainment.

The NCAA is just a hip shot away from B movies. Any so called alliance with rivalries and further learning went out the window so the window would make room for more moola coming in. Some would call that corruption, many others would just take it for what it is.

Glad my Spartans won in what some would call the game of the century. Even the cheese heads JR in WI, that was awesome. Pulled for K State, Iowa and certainly AZ, but they all lost. I do like that the SEC is finding their orbit back here on earth, but they do have some impressive teams. Tired of any team from TX or CA. Oh well.

The most depressing time is after hockey is over and football starts. Now where did I put my golf clubs.... 🙂 But in theme with the topic I do have to put a kudo in for the Bucky Ducky BCS Chumpionship Bowl. Gonna be a good one for sure. If I were betting, I go with the over (gonna be 86) in a very fun filled game to be played.

Ok Sir Roadie, you win that one. As my sacred wings (lower case) took one in the canoolie from the Cannooks.

Not to worry about your 'Boys though. They are locked, cocked, and ready to rock. I'm almost thinking of rooting for them, but I would still put my moola on them if I were so inclined. Then I'd have to kill myself, and that is not in my best interest either.

I'll just stick to my Spartans for now, and wait till April and see where the Puck Drops, then they can Shoot It.

Cheers.... 😉

I wanted to post a photo of the next NHL star but couldn't attach a photo, oh well. Grandson is five and started on the team at 4.5. Skates better than most of the ten year olds:-P

If I were growing up I'd want a grandpa like you. Good story and hope the young man stays with it.

My pops had skates on me even as I was learning to walk. Then when I could skate backwards faster than him going forward, he'd just shoot the puck at me. But I was only 9 or 10 and just say "...dad, you almost hit me...". Lots of laughs too.

Likely one of the most relaxing things a kid can do. Hope your little guy stays with the program, then when he gets old he can reflect on the good things grandpa showed him.

GRANDMA!
I pay for the gear and ice time and get pics in my email. I miss seeing them grow up, the price of working in afghanistan:-( His twin sister competes in figure skating. I'm looking forward to being home in March and will be able to go to her competition in Denver. I missed her very first one in Aspen and only heard of her actually going out on the ice in front of all those people and sorta doing her routine. COOL!

Sorry about the misread on my part ma'am. The story is the same, and my ma taught me how to cook and do laundry and be a gentleman. The humility part came from my grandpa (moms dad). They are all looking on us from the heavens, and hopefully with a smile. 🙂

But at the end of the day, us gramma's, grammpy's, uncle's & aunt's, big brothers & sisters, and bestest of friends all want the youngin's to be better than us. It's fun to watch them develop.
