I have a Vortex 4-12x50 on my Weatherby .270 and really like it. Crisper image than the Nikon Monarch - on par with higher end Leupolds but at a better price. Haven't owned it long enough to determine how it holds up with use over time, but on inspection, workmanship seems excellent.

I've been thinking about that red dot for my AR, but haven't heard or read anything on it yet.
