Does anyone here know where I can get one of those bumper stickers of the Vietnam service ribbon? I was talking with my Uncle Jim the other day about medals and stuff. His entire military service record was destroyed in a fire in St. Louis many decades ago. He says out of 2 inches thick in records, only a few pages survived. Fortunately the most important was his DD-214 which was ok. He claims he was due for many medals. I think he means service ribbons which he never got any. Honestly, he sounds kind of bitter about it all though he claims he doesn't care. He may say one thing but his demeanor and body language says something completely different to me.
So, I want to present him with at least his Vietnam service ribbon he can display on his truck. I occasionally see those as bumper stickers so I thought I could do that for him. He was all over the world back then so I imagine he's probably due a whole rack of various ribbons.
I only came up with this idea yesterday so I haven't had much time to search around. I figured I'd just start here given our vast diversity.

Thank you Tyler!!
Row 2 #1 is exactly what I had in mind. He only did one 2-year tour there and I think all of that was from the ship - CVN-65 more affectionately known to many as "The Big E". Ain't that ironic. BigE posting about The Big E.

Sometimes the quality of the stuff from Café Press is not what you would wish.
This site: http://www.medalsofamerica.com/
has EVERYTHING a vet would want and the quality of the items is quite high, while the prices are not.
Thye are free from the VA. I will find the contact number and post later.
A couple of years ago my brother in CA. contacted St.Louis and requested info on my father from WWII, Attached is the correspondence, etc. I didn't break it all out, since my dad is deceased a number of years the addresses and numbers are what would be of interest for contact info, and it makes for interesting reading---Hoorah.

Cool John. Are you talking about the bumper sticker or the actual ribbon. I don't think he cares about the real thing. Then again, he's hard to read sometimes.
BigE,
Do both if you can. It may help him to feel better about it. Along with the medal usually comes the small ribbon that can be pinned to a lapel or a hat.
Taking the time and effort shows that you care.

I don't know how I could do both. I sure wouldn't mind to be able to do that. Least I can do would be the bumper sticker. I'd be dam proud to pin a whole rack on him.
He was there 68-70.
Me and him are a lot alike. Take off his glasses and have us stand side to side and one would we were brothers. Him and my Dad were best buddies back in the day.
Yeah, I think the world of Jim. To say I care would be an understatement.
I was thinking yesterday about could I present him with stuff in person. How would I say it? I would dare not say about in your service to our great nation and such. He does military funerals (about 2 or 3 a week) and he's in charge of the firing squad and flag folding. That might freak him out a bit.

Just tell him you found something for him and hope it means as much to him as being able to give it to him means to you.
