Would you happen to have a spare [working] video card with s-video laying around I could have?
I had some down time last week and decided to do "kit bashing" (to use the old model-builder's vernacular) and take the video card from my old Dell XP box and put it in my new HP box so I could watch videos on my TV through the S-video connection. The HP machine doesn't have one.
I put the old card in the new machine and it would not power up at all.
That tells me the old machine did not in fact die but the video card was the culprit all along!
I was also going to put the old hard drive and one of DVD drives in the new box but the HP frame was not built with the idea of people messing around inside.
The Dell box/hardware is much more superior in the that regard.
I decided "well hell, if that's all it was to begin with, I'll just put a new video card in and get it running again!!"

I don't have an extra video card, but I saw this on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-S-Video-Computer-Adapter-Cable/dp/B006I0IKVM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1385397863&sr=8-3&keywords=video+card+with+s-video
reasonable price to just use your vga output.
