Hi, guys!!! Here's the latest update!!! Between my donation collecting, my Mom-In-Law preparing to move in, and me helping one of my daughters with wedding preparations, I am kinda behind. So it's actually a week behind, but we're catching up! Thank you to all who have helped. You guys...are seriously the kindest Surveyors on the planet. ?????ÿ
Ok, here's another quick check in! I am still running ragged collecting donations for Ukraine. People drop by daily with stuff. The garage is getting full again. Time to bug hubby tomorrow to Tetris it all in there.
In the middle of all of this, hubby and I were gifted some railroad ties. Cool!
So, we drive out to the middle of no mans land on a crazy dirt road to get these things. Silly me, I thought they'd be light as a feather. Nope! These things must weigh 5000 pounds! You should have heard me saying a few choice words as hubby and I lifted these suckers into the back of the truck. Good thing I brought heavy duty gloves to move them with. So, yesterday a dear friend came by and helped hubby move them OUT of the truck, because I am not touching them EVER again.
And, over the weekend, I had the honor of helping my adopted daughter pick out her wedding dress. *sniffles*
The bridal "figure-it-all-out" lady took us to this fancy private room with about 10,001 wedding dresses, veils, bling, etc... and asks her a few questions, then drags out a few select dresses.
First 3 were "eh", but the next one was perfect! Ding! Then she picked a veil. Then they brought us all a sparkling non-alcoholic drink to have a "toast". Then we went to dinner and reminisced about the good ol' days.
I can still picture her at age 3, playing by the creek, running from crawdads. *More Sniffles* I feel old. And Proud.
